One of our three business units of Origins Media PLC, Origins Business focuses on being the preferred business news and information media outlet of Ethiopia. We do this through our Radio Show and our business website.
The Radio Show
In September 2020, Origins Media in collaboration with Ethio FM 107.8 launched Ethio Trade and Investment Forum – a weekly radio show that runs every Saturday Morning from 9 – 10 AM and as of August 2021 additionally every Monday 6pm – 7pm. As the name indicates, the radio program, through its contents, aims to promote the trade and investment opportunities, assess gaps and bring to awareness the obstacles therein to both business people and relevant authorities.
The program reports major business and investment news, hosts prominent business people and government officials, interviews company CEOs, key players and relevant government officials about the current business and investment climate in specific sectors.
Additionally, Ethio Trade and Investment Forum’s social media pages and channels provide daily business updates.
THE HOSTS
Betelehem Geremew
A graduate of Addis Ababa University Journalism and Communications School, Bethelehem has worked at Zami Radio and Ahadu Radio and TV. She has a rich experience working in radio studios and reporting news and feature stories. Bethelehem joined Origins Media in September 2020 and has since been producing and co-hosting the ‘Ethio Trade and Investment Forum radio show.
Kaleyesus Bekele
Trained as a business reporter, Kaleyesus Bekele has accumulated a twenty-year experience in the local and international media. He has began his journalism career at the Addis Fortune business newspaper and later worked at the Ethiopian Reporter for 18 years. As a freelance correspondent, he has written articles for several international publications including African Business, Airline Fleet and Network Management, World Air News, African Aerospace Magazine and Aviation International News (AIN). Kaleyesus has been producing and co-hosting the Ethio Trade and Investment radio show since September 2020.
