Mintex expo to be held in Millennium Hall
Mining and Technology Expo (Mintex) is to be held from November 10 to 12 at Millennium Hall in Addis Abeba.
Ministry of Mines is the organizer of the event.
South Africa, Canada, Australia organize well-known mining events. “Ethiopia will also organize mining technology expo in a bid to create a platform to commercialize our mines and create linkages with international companies,” Feven Teshome, Communication Director at Ministry of Mines, told Origins Business.
Mintex will create an opportunity to link up more than 100 companies. “We are expecting more than 100 international and local mining companies to take part on the expo,” Feven said.
Mining companies with state-of-the-art technology will unveil their technologies and create linkage with traditional miners, Feven said.
“Though there’re lots of mining companies in Ethiopia they’re not benefited from their businesses due to poor market linkage,” she said. “Therefore, the expo is intended to integrate traditional mining actors with technology owned companies and create a market linkage for both.”
“Popularizing the quality of Ethiopia’s Gemstone through advertisements and creating market linkages is the basic intention of the event,” she said.
Gemstone and gold will be displayed on the expo. Ceramic, marble and cement factories will display and sell their products, she said.
Ethiopian Airlines will also take part on the expo. Mining companies will use the opportunity to network the Airlines.
Business meetings, symposium, and discussions with policy makers will also be held.
