Gov’t decides to grant mobile money service license to Safaricom
Ethiopian government has disclosed that it has decided to grant a mobile money service license for Safaricom Ethiopia PLC.
Ahmed Shide, Minister of Finance announced Thursday that the government has decided to grant a license to Safaricom Ethiopia during the national launch of Safaricom Ethiopia PLC at Friendship Square.
The decision to grant the license comes immediately after Kenya’s President William Ruto’s request to grant Safaricom license for mobile service operation in Ethiopia during the national launch program.
Prime Minister Abiy and many senior government officials attended the launching program.
Ruto welcomed Ethiopia’s government decision to grant license with wide open arms.
