Safaricom Ethiopia rolls out customer network pilot in Awoday, Gonder
Safaricom Ethiopia announced Thursday that it has extended its large-scale customer pilot to Awoday and Gonder cities.
The latest rollout of customer pilots raises the number of cities testing Safaricom Ethiopia’s network to ten, following phased city-by-city customer pilots in Dire Dawa, Harar, Haramaya, Bahir Dar, Adama, Bishoftu, Mojo and Debre Birhan cities over the past four weeks. Customers in Awoday and Gondar cities will be able to purchase SIM cards and choose their preferred numbers on Safaricom Ethiopia’s 07 prefix.
The Safaricom Ethiopia SIM cards come with the welcome offer of Data, Voice and SMS for customers to test and experience the network for one month.
 In addition to the welcome package, customers will be able to actively register on the network, purchase airtime vouchers and devices; and access dedicated customer support in the branded shops and all branded shops in the cities.
