Ministry of Finance announced Friday that it has decided to sell scrap metals and aging vehicles from public offices, development enterprises and government-owned universities to steel industries.

The price for scrap metals has been set and the measure would ease lack of inputs at steel industries, according to the statement issued by the Ministry.

The scrap metals and old vehicles will be sold for the industries without auction but with the already set prices. The vending will be executed according to the production capacity of the steel industries.

Data from the Public Procurement and Property Administration Agency shows that at least 10,000 vehicles owned by public institutions and universities have been mismanaged and were kept with no purpose.
