Wegagen Bank S.C. donates 500,000 Birr to Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia
Wegagen Bank Share Company has provided a financial support of half a million Birr to Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia on Friday.
The Bank’s donation will help to strengthen activities of the Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia where women suffering from obstetric fistula have been getting a medical care, Hailu Molla, Vice Board Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Wegagen Bank said.
The support handover program was held at the headquarters of Wegagen Bank Share Company. Mr. Hailu handed over the support to Tesfaye Mamo, CEO of Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia.
“This support is part of the Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSRs) the bank has been discharging so far,” Hailu said.
The Bank has been providing similar donations to different institutions; Ethiopian Red Cross Association, Addis Abeba City Administration and displaced people from different areas.
“Wegagen Bank provided a support of 70 million Birr to different charity deeds and other development projects in the last three years,” he said.
A total asset of the bank was 40 billion Birr during the 2020/21 fiscal year. As of June 30, 2022 it reached 43.6 billion Birr and its paid-up capital reached to 6.1 billion Birr from 3.4 billion Birr in the previous year.
Meanwhile, Actor Amanuel Habtamu has officially started his job as a “Brand Ambassador of Wegagen Bank” during the financial support program.
