An Oxygen plant has inaugurated Tuesday in Dire Dawa City. The plant was constructed by Yeabsira Industrial Complex PLC at a cost of 50 million Birr.
Kedir Jewar, Mayor of Dire Dawa city said that construction of the plant will ease shortage of oxygen, which was common in hospitals.
“Previously, heading to Addis Abeba was common to get oxygen, and the new plant will slash energy and costs to get there,” he said.
The plant, which is the first for Dire Dawa, has a capacity of producing 529 cylinders oxygen in a day, Yabsira Belete, Founder and Owner of Yeabsira Industrial Complex PLC said during the inauguration program.
Lemlem Bezabih, Head of City Administration’s Health Bureau said for her side that the production capacity of the plant will cover the demand of the city.
The plant will create job for 40 people.
