Commission, Plan Int’l Ethiopia sign strategic partnership agreement

The Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) and Plan International Ethiopia signed a strategic partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday to jointly foster their strategic pillars.

Accordingly, Plan International will promote youth livelihoods through the promotion of Skills Opportunities and Youth Economic Engagement and that of EIC’s strategic pillar of creating sustainable and decent jobs through attracting quality investment.

The engagement will strengthen and enhance the quality of labor supply and retain labor in and around industrial parks through integrated community service supports, according to EIC.

The partners have agreed to collaborate in supporting different project activities that promote productivity improvement and enhance the employability of youth in Ethiopia.

Daniel Teressa, Deputy Commissioner of Investment and Hiwotie Simachew, Deputy Country Director of Plan International signed the agreement. Both officials expressed their eagerness to work together to improve workforce retention, create decent jobs and ensure that skilled labor is supplied in the country and they also reaffirm their continued commitment to realize the changes in the immediate future.
