Ethio Telecom garners 61.3 bln Birr yearly revenue
Ethio telecom announced Thursday that it has garnered annual revenue of 61.3 billion Birr in 2021/22 fiscal year.
Frehiwot Tamiru, CEO of Ethio telecom presented the yearly performance of the company at Ellily Hotel.
She said that the company had a plan to collect revenue of 70 billion Birr and earned 61.3 billion Birr, which is 87.6% of the target and 8.5% increment from the previous fiscal year.
Frehiwot also disclosed in a presser that 146 million Birr had remitted through the international remittance service partnering with 37 counties within the last six months.
In addition to this, targeted fuel subsidy transactions are being handled through telebirr, which is integrating governmental and private organizations into its digital system, she said.
The company’s total subscribers reached 66.59 million achieving 104% of the subscriber base target and an increase of 18.4% from similar period of the previous fiscal year
Mobile voice subscribers reached 64.5 million, data and internet users 26.1 million, fixed services customers reached 885.3 thousand and fixed Broadband subscribers reached 506.8 thousand, according to the report presented by Frehiwot.
