Ministry, Türkiye’s Çalık Holding sign MoUs for natural gas exploration, development

Ministry of Mines and Petroleum and a Turkish company Çalık Holding signed three Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) including natural gas exploration and development in Ethiopia.

The MoUs has been signed on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Ministry. The MoUs will serve as cooperation agreements.

The MoUs signed between the two sides represented by Takele Uma (Eng.), Minister of Mines and Petroleum and representatives of the Çalık holding and its subsidiary companies, FBC reported.

The MoUs will pave a way for cooperation in natural gas exploration and development, fertilizer, and gold production in Ethiopia, Takele said.

Established by Ahmet Çalık in 1981, Çalık Holding operates in several sectors: energy, construction, real estate, textiles, mining, finance and digital sector, a data from company’s website said.

With operations spread throughout 31 countries, spanning Central Asia, the Balkans, Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions, the Group employs nearly 14,000 people.
