Ethiopia has played an active role in coming up with an action plan to the outcome of the document and would also has part in the implementation of the outcome of the conference, he said.

Ethiopia will contribute as a member country of the Horn of Africa region, in implementing the outcomes of the conference, Teshome said noting its experience in green legacy.

Climate change is one of the changes that have been affecting the region seriously. Environmental protection and then green legacy will definitely contribute in mitigating the effects of climate change.

Ethiopia is ready to share that experience it would expand it to the region, he stated.

Moreover, the initiative has been supported by all members of the countries of the region, according to Teshome. He went on to say that, “China as a partner would like to contribute in the actual implementation of the outcome but ensuring security and development is a key responsibility of the countries of the region”.

He further stressed that the region has been affected by management and natural crisis, and the Chinese government has a stake and interest in the region to come up with this initiative to solve the problems.

“We have political differences, disputes here and there. But this initiative actually creates a platform for us to come together and then discuss our differences, our problems so that we can resolve any problems that might exist among countries,” as Teshome puts it.
