Ethio Telecom announced that it will officially launch 5th generation (5G) services next week Monday.
The company has been on trial stages of the 5G services for a year. 5G is mainly intended to be introduced to deal with the high volume of data transmission in dense urban networks in the country.
Ethio Telecom has been aggressively expanding 4G LTE services across the country in the last two years. As a result, more than 136 towns are now using the service.
The telecom giant has more than 65 million mobile service customers, and 25 million of them can tap mobile internet services.
