Ethiopian Airlines Group appoints new executive management team

The newly appointed Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Mesfin Tasew, has formed a new executive management team.

Retta Melaku has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO). Retta was serving as acting COO.

Capt.  Yoseph Hailu appointed Vice President (VP) Flight Operations replacing Capt. Yohannes Hailemariam. Capt. Yoseph has been serving Ethiopian since 1985 at various positions including Director of Flight Training.

Sources told Origins Business that Capt Yohannes who served the airline for 38 years and accumulated more than 29,000 flight hours on his flight log book would join the ET flight training center.

Lemma Yadecha has been appointed chief commercial officer replacing Essayas Woldemariam. Lemma has been serving as MD International Services. Mesfin Biru replaced Lemma as MD international services.

Sources told Origins Business that Essayas Woldemariam could be appointed CEO of ASKY Airlines, the Togo based pan African Airline managed by Ethiopian Airlines.

Daniel Abebe replaced Busera Awol as VP Strategic Planning and Alliances. Daniel Abebe was Director of Fleet and Network Planning for many years.

Zenebework Gebretsadik replaced Wasihun Asres as acting group VP Human Resource Management. 

Eskinder Alemu has been appointed CEO of Ethiopian Airports. He was serving that position as acting CEO.

Kidus Melkamu has been appointed as MD Ethiopian MRO (Maintenance Repair and Overhaul). Kidus has been serving that position as acting MD.

Hailemelekot Mamo has been appointed to the position of VP ET Holiday, and Digital Sales, Getnet Tadesse to the position of Group Chief Information Officer, Tadele Barega to the position of MD Ethiopian Ground Services, and Mengistu Bezie to the position of Group VP Internal Audit, Compliance and Business Sustainability.
