BGI Ethiopia launches internship program
BGI Ethiopia has officially launched its internship program by recruiting students from Addis Ababa University (AAU).
The program was held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the premises of AAU.
It was on October 2020 that BGI Ethiopia signed a memorandum of understanding with AAU, to implement the BGI XP internship Program. Back then, BGI Ethiopia introduced the program to the students at the 6 kilo campus and explained BGI XP’s nature and the requirements set to participate in the program.
Accordingly, more than 500 students, who will be selected from all departments except medicine science and languages, will pass in the process of the internship recruitment program.
The main objective of the program is equipping students with knowledge and valuable experience across the departments of BGI, said Gebresilassie Sifir, Communication Director of BGI Ethiopia.
Beneficiaries of the program will be identified after passing the general knowledge exam, which will be effective immediately following the registration.
Potential candidates of the internship program should be reading for their Masters level and will be paid monthly salary while they are interns at BGI Ethiopia. On jobs trainings and conducts of each job will be part of their internship trainings.
Mesfin Legesse, Human Resource Manager of BGI Ethiopia said that 50 to 60 students will be part of the opportunity after the recruitment process.
