Addis Chamber enhances discharging its corporal social responsibility

Addis Abeba Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (AACCSA) said it has increasing discharging corporate social responsibility and it is working to rehabilitate the damaged areas due to the war in the northern part of the country.

AACCSA has been supported people who are displaced due to the war in northern Ethiopia and by the Covid-19 pandemic.

In December last year, Addis Chamber provided food and non-food items amounting 3.2 million Birr for the Internally Displaced Peoples (IDPs) because of the war.

Wheat flour, Rice, Children fortified foods, clothes, sanitary items and blankets, among others, have been provided to the victims of the war.

Meanwhile, the Chamber is also exerting efforts to further rehabilitate areas that were damaged by the war with the massive involvement of the private sector.

Also, the Chamber has provided 2.5 million Birr to the Ethiopian National Defense Forces.

Moreover, the chamber has provided financial supports to the Sheger Project, Gebeta Lehager and the Mega Project of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

The Chamber is equipping Ethiopian and Ethiopian decent diaspora with the vital information to facilitate investments.

Regarding enhancing the participation of the private sector, AACCSA presented 135 policy recommendations to the government. Most of these recommendations have been accepted by the government and incorporated into the Ten-Years Perspective Plan, according to AACCSA.
