National Bank approves Amhara Bank officials’ appointment

The National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE), the financial sector regulatory institution, has approved the appointment of five Vice Presidents (VPs) as per the request from Amhara Bank.

NBE has given an approval for five senior VP appointments on its notification on Monday November 22.

Following the approval, Amhara Bank assigned senior bankers, who came from three different financial firms, on different key positions.

According to the Bank, Chanyalew Demissie has been assigned as the first VP for Chief Banking Officer at Amhara Bank, while Dawit Tefera has taken over VP for Chief Information Officer Position for the Bank.

Bezuayehu Seyoum has become VP for Chief Banking Business, and Hailu Moges will head the Chief Human Resource section.

Dashen Bank’s former VP Henok Kebede has become President of the Bank recently.

Amhara Bank has 6 billion Birr paid-up capital and over 180 thousand shareholders, which is the largest figure for new-entrant Bank.
