Dashen Banks appoints new senior officials
Following the introduction of the Bank’s revised strategic plan and a revamped organizational restructuring as well as departure of two senior officials to newly formed banks; Dashen Bank announced that it has appointed new senior officials on various positions.
With a long history of nurturing talent with its trademark ‘growing own tree’ principle, Dashen filled four out of the five vacant senior management positions by experienced young bankers from within the Bank.
Dashen, one of Ethiopia’s leading private banks, also welcomed a senior digital banking officer from Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE). The National Bank of Ethiopia has given approval to Dashen’s appointments.
Accordingly, Ayele Teshome has been appointed as Chief Banking Business Officer. He graduated from Addis Abeba University (AAU) in Economics and Political Science and Foreign Relations. He also holds a post graduate degree in Human Resource Management from the same university.
Ayele has over three decades of experience in the banking industry and has been serving the Bank in the capacity of Director for Banking Operation and Central Processing prior to his latest appointment.
Eyerusalem Wagaw is the new Chief People Officer. She is a graduate of AAU in Management and Public Administration, where she also pursued her post graduate degree in Human Resource Management. She has been with Dashen Bank for a little over 18 years. Served the Bank in various capacities, Eyerusalem has also been Deputy Chief Officer for Human Resources before her promotion to the new role.
Mesfin Bezu has become Chief Interest Free Banking Officer.
Mesfin has Diploma in Banking and Finance and Computer Science from AAU and HilCoe School of Computer Science and Technology, respectively. He further pursued his under graduate degree in Computer Science at AAU. Mesfin led Dashen Bank’s pursuit for Shariah-complaint banking services, a new business wing which has led from inception. He has been Deputy Chief of Interest Free Banking prior to his appointment to the new role.
Meanwhile, Mulugeta Alebachew is the new Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer. Mulugeta started his career with Dashen Bank as a Junior Market Research and Planning Expert a little over 18 years ago.
He has under graduate degree in management and post graduate degree in Marketing Management both from AAU. Mulugeta served Dashen Bank in various capacities and he has been leading the strategy and innovation team of the Bank prior to his fresh appointment.
Last but not least, served the CBE in various capacities and Vice President of Digital Banking role, Yohannes Million has become the newly appointed Chief Digital Banking Officer at Dashen Bank.
Yohannes started his career journey spanning over 20 years with CBE as Junior Bank Clerk. He has Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Unity University. He has also diploma in Accounting, and under graduate degrees in Accounting and philosophy both from AAU.
