IPDC, GIZ sign over €32.8 mln worth of agreement to support industrialization

Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) and GIZ, Germany’s international cooperation for sustainable development, have signed an agreement worth over €32 million in a bid to support a project dubbed “Sustainable Industrial Clusters (SIC)”.

The project will be financed by Germany and United Kingdom governments.

SIC project will be implemented for five years across industrial parks in Ethiopia, IPDC announced in a press conference on Friday.

“Increasing competitiveness, creating jobs and enhancing exports can be listed among the objectives of the project,” said Yared Fekade, SIC Project Head at GIZ.

Friday’s agreement is said have an impact to accelerate the implementation of SIC project.
