Nib International Bank contributes 3 mln Birr for Children’s Heart Fund

Nib International Bank (NIB) has contributed 3 million Birr for The Children’s Heart Fund of Ethiopia.

NIB has been making contribution to the Fund for over 14 years since its construction, according to Hiruy Ali, CEO of The Children’s Heart Fund of Ethiopia.

“NIB’s contribution will be utilized to purchase echocardiogram (echo), which helps to diagnose heart,” Hiruy said.

Leulseged Nigussie, Vice President for Strategic and Transformation at NIB for his part said: “We’ll extend the support that has been provided so far for the Fund.”

“Recently we inaugurated our new headquarters at the financial district in Senga Tera area. We provided the support as part of plan to conduct charitable deeds following the inauguration,” he added.

“NIB will also continue to support construction of mega national projects such as the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD),” said Hiruy.

More than 9,500 children’s with coronary problems have been get medicated by the Fund so far.

The Children’s Heart Fund of Ethiopia (CHFE) was established in 1989 as a non-governmental and charitable organization focused on helping children with coronary illness being the first organization to exercise cardiac medical service in Ethiopia.

From its foundation, it has set out characterized prompt, moderate, and long-haul targets to save lives from heart disease and creating awareness to the society on causes of the disease.
